Our Impact
For nine years, Leeds Baby Bank has supported families with young children across the city. We provide essential items, create welcoming community spaces, and connect families to vital services, helping them feel supported, less isolated and better equipped to give their children a strong start in life.
Why we exist
A child experiencing poverty is more likely to grow up facing:
poorer mental and physical health
delays in early development and lower educational attainment
a shorter life expectancy
and insecure, lower-paid work
We exist to intervene early, supporting families so children can have a healthier, more stable start in life.
How we help
By providing essential items alongside a welcoming, dignified experience, we support parents to meet their children’s basic needs and reduce immediate stress. Through our community spaces, we build trusted relationships where families can connect, access guidance and be signposted to wider services, helping them feel supported and less isolated.
By combining practical help with early support, we help give children in Leeds a safer, healthier start, while contributing to the wider aim of strengthening families, reducing inequalities and enabling every child to thrive.
